Converbs in Bulgarian Turkish Dialects

In this study, an identification study on the gerundium in Bulgarian Turkish dialects was carried out. In the introduction part of thethesis, information about the geographical and cultural structure of Bulgaria was given. Then the studies on the dialects of the region and the classifications in these studies were mentioned. In the analysis part of the theses, the gerundiums identified in Bulgarian Turkish dialects, variants and functions of these gerundiums were determined. Bulgarian Turkish dialects were limited to certain regions in order not to open the boundaries of the thesis. The analysis data were taken from master's and Phd's theses conducted as text compilation on the determined regions. The terminology and classification in Zeynep Korkmaz'swork (2009) were taken as basis in theanalysis. In terms of structure, the gerundiums identified in Bulgarian Turkish dialects are divided into two main sections: real gerundiums and gerundiums with differentstructures. In the sub-sections of the sesections, the usage patterns of the affixes are given. These usage are shown with examples obtained from the data. Finally, the idendified gerundiums are exemplified according to their fuctions under two headings: styleand time. In the conclusion section, the determination of the gerundiums used in Bulgarian Turkish dialects together with their variants is presented collectively. At the same time, it is tried to present which gerundiums used in which regional dialect with which variants, supported by templates.
