Distribution and some morphological differences of Bulinus truncatus (Audoin 1827) (Mollusca:Gastropoda) and Physa acuta (Draparnaud 1805) (Mollusca:Gastropoda) habituated in Akçakale vicinity in Şanliurfa

This study was carried out between the months June 2010 and May 2011 in 4 choosen stations on Akçakale vicinity in Şanlıurfa.In this study, it is aimed that to find out new localities and some differences of morphologically similar species, Bulinus truncatus, and Physa acuta, that live in same locality in Şanlıurfa vicinity. Bulinus truncatus is an intermediate host of a digenetic trematod Schistosoma haematobium, so it has medically importance.Collecting materails put in suitable caps and brought to the laboratory. Some living samples of Bulinus truncatus have been used to proof of hemoglobin that is differs from Physa acuta. After searching on samples they photoes and conchological mesasures were taken. Eventually they labelled in caps.It is find out that Bulinus truncatus and Physa acuta live in same habitat. In addition Bulinus truncatus enlarged its distribution and it setled down more north in Turkey.
