Özet (EN)
The study was conducted to determine the situation of contamination with helminth eggs of cat and dog at soil samples in childeren playgrouds in parks of Burdur province and also risks in terms of these pathogens. Totally 100 soil samples from diffferent places of 10 parks were collected notwithstanding any time in order to examine for helmint eggs. In the study, four of 10 parks (40%) were contaminated with cat and dog helminths. Twenty seven of total 100 soil samples (27%) were contaminated with helmint eggs. Toxocara sp. were found as the most prevalent species with the percentage of 21 and this was followed by Taenia sp. with the percentage of 6. While Taenia eggs were discovered only one park of ten, the contamination ratio was 60%. Toxocara spp. were only detected in three of four park (70%, 60% and 80% respectively for the number of parks) which was contaminated with helmint eggs. The differences between contamination rates of Toxocara sp. were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Contamination with cat and dog helminth eggs in children playgraunds in parks was firstly determined in Burdur province with this study. It is thought that the results obtained from this study will be used as an archive for the similar following studies and also will be able to contribute improving of protection and control programmes related to diseases occured by established parasites sepecies.
