Ergonomics at manegement of office and the effect of ergonomics to productivity: An example of Ankara Police Department

iiABSTRACTIn our study we try to determine the police?s Office conditions and it?s effectsto their efficiency. Fundemental concepts regarding Office management andproductivity are studied and effect of environmental conditions to office poductivityis examined. Besides, factors that effects business productivity and the effects ofphysical environment on employees are discussed. An inquiry was applied to theemployees who work at Office at Ankara Police Department. Effects ofenvironmental conditions on employees are examined. Regarding this subject, an 42- question-inquiry was applied to 200 individuals who work at office.According to this inquiry, it appears that employees are affected by thephysical environment. Efficiency either increases or decreases in accordance withthis influence. As a result of observations, we can say that employees are in a veryintensive working conditions. In addition to that, when environmental problemsrelated to physical environment are added, work performance decreases andefficiency becames low. Here are some crucial findings that are obtained from theinquiry. The most important factors that disturb the employees in office areillumination, ventilation, noise and office furniture. With the decoration of these inaccordance. With ergonomics principles, performance and effiency of the employeeswill raise.Fatigue and stress that are caused from office enviroment are harmful for theemployees concentration and productivity of someone. Who feels bad decreases.It should not be forgotten that office employees are humanbeings and effected byenviroment. We should provide them with comfortable, healty and peaceful workconditions. In consequence of that, productivity will rise and target will be reachead.
