Abstract (EN)

The phenomenon of magic that has found its place in every society through the human history has brought its practitioner social privileges. The social position of the magic mecanism has also determined the social status of the magician. In this context, the shamanist tradition has played an active role incontrovertibly in the way of the magical phenomenon and social relations in pre-islamic Turkish society. Contrary to this at the present time there has been a disolving of status in the Notion of magic and the magician as a character. The purpose of our work is to examine the change in the magician's status from the window of the magic and social relations and to address the reasons for this change.
