Modern leadership approaches and relationship with employee motivation: A pharmaceutical company sample

Two factors affecting success of foundations in our day are leadership and motivation subjects. The leadership approaches that managers exhibit, can affect motivation of employees. While discussing the conceptions like; descriptions related to leadership and theories of leadership in this study; description and significance of motivation, motivation patterns-theories and factors affecting motivation at workplace were investigated as well. A descriptive research towards defining the situation related to subject was included. In this regard; the purpose of this study, is to investigate the relationship between motivation of employees manager leadership approaches. 600 individual working in a Pharmaceutical Company consisted of sample group. For statistical analysis of data obtained, statistics like frequence, percentage, arithmetic mean and standart deviation were carried out, and in order to test whether the data distribution is normal or not, Kolmogorov-Smirnov distribution test. As the data does not show a normal distribution as a non-parametrical statistical test: Mann Whitney U test, from double comparisons, in more than two comparisons; Kruskall Wallis test were applied. The relationship between perceived leadership approaches and employee motivation were tested through simple linear regression analyze test. According to finding of study, leadership approach that employees perceive in their managers doesn't show any difference in gender, but age were determined. It was found that there is a strong relationship between perceived manager leadership approach and employee motivation, transformational and subscriber leadership approach is perceived much than leadership approach that provides freeness, transformational leadership approach has more effect on internal and external motivation.
