Eye in contemporary art and fundus applications

We investigated the anatomical and functional properties of eye as an important sense organ, in our thesis named 'Eye in Contemporary Art and Fundus Applications'. In the universe, as a fırst step, when light, then life became prominent, eye developing started and still continues, nowadays. We also talked about properties of the eye and the importance of the eye for living things. Following the ancient times, eye is given an important value that deserved, till in our times. Eye has been preventing in its place in contemporary art, also additionally, we gave some samples of artists that had pronounced eye details in their arts. And we announced that the artists painted and used the eye in the way what they wanted to explain to the community. We also wanted to attract attention to retina (Fundus) which is a part of eye, not well- known by people but also very unique like finger print, however its reunite property in a wholistic point of view. We added some different fundus images as a part of an art exhibition. Because our century is a technology and science century, art is still evaluating in many other fields in contrast to conventional taboos. In this manner, multiple products of technology may be converted as a work of an art, nowadays. Following the idea above, we wanted to show pictures of fundus that obtained by using high technology cameras to the human beings as an exhibition via an interdisciplinary approach. By this way, on the other hand we wanted to explain that the differences between people, are how nonsense. As an Outlook to our planet from the universe, we all see the blue earth without any borders, there is no need to separate people by their sex, nationality, social statue, language and religion. İn this manner, retinal images, like finger prints, both unigue and special individually, but same in all populations of the world in general, may effect and change the world positively in the way to the unıverse peace. As a result, association of Science and Art was tackled, and explained by an interdisciplinary approach, in our thesis. Key Words: Contemporary Art, Eye, Fundus, Orbita, Retina
