Representation of the father's role in the context of social realism in contemporary Turkish painting

The main theme of the study is "Representation of the Father's Role in Contemporary Turkish Painting Art in Terms of Social Realism". Social Realism from the establishment of the Republic to the present, have had a great impact on Turkish Painting. The data obtained by examining the paintings of the artists who dealt with the father element attributed to the male figure in their works were used in the research. In this study, which deals with the reflections of Painting Art and Social Realism with each other throughout history and the sources created; the change in the socio-cultural field, the art environment shaped by this change, the general history of periodical Turkish painting, the figurative art in Turkish painting, the style and characteristics of the artists who produce in terms of social realism, the design elements used in the creation of the works, the composition, the art movements they belong, it is discussed.. As a result; The unique structure and sensitivity of the father figure, who is an Anatolian person, was discussed as a subject in the paintings created in terms of social realism in the studied contemporary Turkish painting art. The group of "Yeniler" (The Modernists) which emerged after 1940, led to the painting of the working people, overcoming artistic concerns in Turkish painting art. When we examine the works in the terms of plastic values, the feelings, thoughts and time of the artists, socio-cultural differences and local values in their location have influenced the works. Along with this, the stylistic understanding and art movements of the artists had an effect on the works.
