Abstract (EN)
CASTOR (Centauro and Strange Object Research) is a tungsten/quartz Cherenkov sampling calorimeter installed at the very forward region of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. It covers the pseudo-rapidity range 5.1 <|?|< 6.6 and is placed 14.38 m away from the interaction point. In order to test the performance of the CASTOR calorimeter, CASTOR Prototype IV was tested in the H2 beam line at CERN/SPS in 2008. Channel intercalibration was studied with E=50-300 GeV muons. In this thesis, inter-calibration constants were determined for the different channels using muons with E=300 GeV.
