Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the consequences of women's working and non-working situations on their marriage expectations and the meaning they attribute to marriage from a sociological perspective. This research aims to reveal what kind of differences women's working or not working causes in their marriage expectations, whether working or not working has an impact on the meaning of marriage, and whether there is a change in marriage anxiety. In this research, the screening model of the quantitative method was used. This research was conducted by applying a survey technique to 250 female participants over the age of 18 residing in Antalya. Socio-demographic data form, Marriage Expectation Scale (Öz Soysal, Uz Baş and Aysan, 2016), Marriage Anxiety Scale (Çelik and Erkilet, 2019) and Meaning Attributed to Marriage Scale (Özabacı, Körük and Kara, 2018) were applied to the participants. First, t-test and ANOVA tests were performed to evaluate the relationships between dependent and independent variables. Tukey, LSD and Tamhane's T2 tests were used to make multiple comparisons. These tests were used to determine which groups were different from each other after ANOVA. Correlation analysis was performed to understand how the dependent variable was related to more than one independent variable, and multiple regression analysis was performed to measure the effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable. IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program was used to analyze the data in the study. In the research findings, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the groups working and not working for EAAS. There were no significant differences between the working and non-working groups for EDS and EDS. It was determined that there was a significant difference between the age variable and EAS, EDS and ECS. It was concluded that there is no significant difference between the meaning attributed to marriage and marriage expectation between professional groups, but there is a significant difference between marriage anxiety and professional groups. In the analysis conducted for EAÖ and EBÖ, no significant difference was found between different income groups. In the inter-scale correlation analysis, it is seen that there is a significant relationship between EAÖ and EBÖ.
