Abstract (EN)
Coldworking glass techniques have been used since ancient times for finishing, shaping and decorating the glass. From the first application examples, coldworking glass techniques have changed in parallel with the technical and technological developments such as the glass, tools and application forms used. At the same time, artistic expressions have changed in parallel with social and economic changes. In this thesis, in addition to emphasizing the importance of coldworking glass techniques in the history of glass art, the aim is to eliminate the lack of Turkish resources on the subject. The first part of the study, which consists of four main sections, deals with the historical development of the cold working glass techniques from the ancient times to the present. In the second chapter, the tools and the basic operating principles are explained. In the third chapter, coldworking glass techniques and different expressions are explained. In the fourth chapter, the personal applications of the researcher are included. Keywords: Glass art, Coldworking glass, Engraving, Cutting, Carving.
