Abstract (EN)
There is no doubt that the Dardanelles Battlefront was among the leading battlefront determining the fate of The First World War. Ground, maritime and aerial warfare took place as part of the Dardanelles Battlefront, and their outcomes shaped the future of both Turkish and World history. The Ottoman support services which were successfully provided under the circumstances of that time played a major role in securing victory in this battlefront alongside with the outstanding actions of the combatants. Indeed, all great military victories in history have been attained by fulfilling the various logistical needs of combatant, army completely besides making the making the right decisions, and the application of excellent operational planning. The 5th military post organization was established to systematically sustain support-service activities of the combatant army on the Dardanelles Battlefront. Thanks to this organization, all types of logistic equipment to improve the army's human resources and the power of war were fully transported to the furthest ramparts. The successful provision of these support services increased the combative effectiveness of the army and contributed to the victory of the war. This study examines the reasons behind the establishment of the 5th Army Post Inspectorship, as well as its functions, duties and logistical activities as a combatant force within the Turkish army. This paper will attempt to examine and assess the role played by the 5th army in conducting logistical services in regard to the Turkish forces and the impact it had on the outcome of the First World War.
