Özet (EN)
Care is the basic part of growth and development of human and is a life-long necessity for each individual. This study was carried out descriptively in order to compare perception of patients who have gone under surgical intervention and nurses who give care to same patients in surgical clinics of Gaziantep University Şahinbey Research and Application Hospital. The sampling of study was composed of 379 patients and 70 nurses who are compatible with research criteria and have corporate and individual participation consent. In collection of data, "Patient Description Form" including demographic information and data about patients' diseases, CBI (Caring Behaviors Inventory-24) in measuring Care Perception were applied for patients and "Nurse Description Form" and CBI (Caring Behavior Inventory-24) were used for nurses. SPSS 18.0 package program was used in statistical analysis of data. It was stated that 13% of patients and 63% of nurses have found nursing care insufficient, and insufficient number of nurses in both groups was reported as a reason for founding care insufficient. Patients' mean total scores of CBI-24 (5,08±0,97) were found statistically significantly lower than of nurses (5,28±0,45) (p=0,005). Patients' sub-dimension scores for confidence (5,19±0,97) and commitment (4,96±1,04) were found lower than of nurses, but there was no difference between them (p=0,085 and p=0,329 respectively). The scores obtained by patients in dimensions of knowledge-skill (5,13±1,0) and being respectful (4,97±1,03), were lower than of nurses and the difference between them was found statistically significantly high (p<0,001 and p=0,002 respectively). As a result, patients' perception levels of nursing care were lower than of nurses. It was determined that patients' status of being undergone surgical intervention previously and finding nursing care sufficient and nurses' gender, marital status, performing occupation willingly and finding nursing service efficient, have an influence on patients' perception levels of nursing care.
