The effect of some plant activators and chemical fertilizers as seed treatments on bacterial fruit blotch of watermelon disease

Abstract (EN)

Watermelon fruit blotch caused by Acidovorax citrulli is one of the significant diseases of watermelon producers. In this study, effect of twelve different plant activators and chemical fertilizers (ISR-2000, Crop-Set, Stubble-Aid, Messenger, Peras INC-2, Biocrop L45, Biozyme TF, Seaweed, Reva Zinc, Streptomicin, Okey and Peras) were investigated on bacterial fruit blotch of watermelon disease control. According to three experiments carried out in chamber rooms in an independent periods, tested chemicals were inhibited pathogen growth among the ratio of 15-58% except Crop-Set. The mean inhibition of Reva Zinc and Stubble-Aid were at the ratios of 58% and 53%, respectively. This study was indicated that the most effective seed treatments were Reva Zinc ve Stubble-Aid on bacterial fruit blotch of watermelon disease control and those were interpreted to be useful in practical. It is concluded that these chemicals should combine to the integrated management programme of bacterial fruit blotch of watermelon as seed treatments.
