Institutional models on effectiveness of environmental audit: The case of Turkey

At the Stockholm Conference held in 1972, the environmental consciousness that emerged as a result of the transport of environmental pollution to the world agenda continues its development with the UNEP's Environmental Program (UNEP), the Kyoto Protocol, the European Union's work on the environment and the UN Global Compact. UN companies are trying to ensure that companies add value to not only their financial resources, but also people, societies and the planet while continuing their initiatives that encourage companies to operate responsibly and support the community on the environment. Turkey closely monitors developments related to the environment in the international level, the provision of environmental audits in a way consistent with the policies adopted in the world, continues its environmental conservation and awareness. In this process, reducing environmental awareness and education to an individual level and creating environmental awareness in public are of great importance in the implementation of environmental policies. The aim of the study "Environmental monitoring of the detection of environmental responsibility awareness of environmental stakeholders to make them more effective and theoretical perspective on how to do" is put forward. In order to achieve this aim, a research was conducted which measures the attitude of enterprises and managers about environmental control and environmental protection, environmental policies and environmental awareness level. s a result of overall business operating in Turkey and Turkey it has been seen as lagging behind in environmental issues. It has emerged that environmental stakeholders should be encouraged through state sanctions rather than volunteering and taking responsibility.
