Abstract (EN)

The importance of motivation in piano education has the value and quality that will affect the success of education. The purpose of this research is the examination and evaluation of student and teacher motivation on online piano education.The working group of this research includes 2 teachers from Avni Akyol Fine Arts Highschool and 2 teachers from Başakşehir Fine Arts Highschool and 2 teachers from Aşık Veysel Fine Arts Highschool which in total 6 teachers and 12 students being educated by these teachers on online piano education. Therefore, this research has 18 participants, 6 teachers and 12 students. In this context, the data was obtained with the help of face-to-face and online semi-structured interviews with the working group which were analyzed in depth with the "content analysis" method and by using the "descriptive analysis" method, and interpreted by creating themes, categories and codes. As a result of the study, it was determined that online piano education is a technology-supported education and that during this education process, not every student has an instrument at home, problems in material transfer, electricity and infrastructure problems, and problems with energy transfer between teacher and student have negatively affected the motivation of students and teachers. Due to these problems, it was determined that both students and teachers preferred face-to-face education.
