Abstract (EN)
CASTOR is a sub-detector of the CMS experiment and it will cover 5,5 ??? 7,1 pseudorapidity range. The signal in CASTOR will be Cherekov light produced by relativistic charged particles passing through CASTOR after collision. This light will be detected by PMTs and it will provide information about the type and energy of particles. Before assembling CASTOR, these PMTs have to be tested for operational parameters such as timing characteristics (transit time, rise time, pulse width), gain, dark current, linearity. This tesis includes the test results of CMSCASTOR?s PMTs. KeyWords: CMS, CASTOR, LHC, Phototube, Calorimeter
