A study on works of children's literature within the scope of the united nations convention of the rights of the child

The most important and sensitive field in law discipline is the children's act area which was created for children who are vulnerable due to their vital dependency on adult individuals and also not having the competence to know or discuss their own rights. In the context of the definition of right, as well as the field of law, the field of education has great responsibilities in teaching children their rights or getting them aware of these rights of their own, too. In this respect, and within the framework of this study, 20 literary works as novels and stories determined by expert advice were achieved in total. These works were studied by document analysis method to see whether they include expressions, meanings, intuitions, or sentences relevant to the articles in the content of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child, or not. The findings about the related works that were obtained by coding on the MAXQDA analysis tool with the deductive qualitative analysis method are presented in detailed tables also including the numbers of the statements supporting convention articles with positive and negative fiction. When the related results were examined, in all the related texts; it was detected that there are supporting or negative 409 statements about the right to life, 282 about the right of being protected,156 about the right of participation, and 150 about the right of development in total. When all of the texts are evaluated, on the other hand, it was seen that whereas 515 findings support children's rights with positive fiction, 482 findings support them with negative fiction. According to the related results, use frequency of the statements approving children's rights and use frequency of the statements contrarily supporting children's rights with negative fiction are highly close to each other. This circumstance suggests the result that the parts in children's literature area like writers, teachers, and publishers need to have essential attention, care, and quality in the name of offering effective literary works that support children's rights and correctly guide children.
