Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to evaluate the attitudes of adolescents who applied to the child and adolescent mental health and diseases polyclinic towards violence in terms of protective factors in their families who are responsible for taking care of them. The study was carried out with 380 adolescent individuals and family members between the ages of 11-18 who applied to Doctor Ekrem Tok Mental Health Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic with one of their family members responsible for their care. In this descriptive study, in order to determine the attitudes of adolescents who applied to the child and adolescent mental health and diseases polyclinic towards violence; "Adolescent Attitudes Towards Violence Scale" developed by Çetin (2011) in order to determine the protective factors in families; The "Scale of Protective Factors in the Family" developed by Consultant and Köksal (2011) and the "Sociodemographic Data Form" for adolescents and their family members who are responsible for taking care of them were used. Data were collected by face-to-face interviews on appropriate days of the week from adolescents who applied to the child and adolescent mental health and diseases polyclinic and their family members responsible for their care. In the findings of our study, when the attitudes of adolescents who applied to the child and adolescent mental health and diseases polyclinic towards violence were examined in terms of protective factors in the family; marital status of their parents (p<0,05), education level (p<0,05), income level (p<0,05), reasons for applying to the polyclinic (p<0,05), witnessing and exposure to violence in the family (p<0,05); the adolescent's perceived attitude from their families (p<0,05); A significant difference was found according to the internet usage duration of the adolescent (p<0.05). At the end of the study, suggestions were presented regarding the prevention of negative attitudes of adolescents towards violence and the development of protective factors in the family.
