Özet (EN)

It is aimed to diagnose language disorders early, to make appropriate referrals, and to prevent difficulties in psychosocial and academic skills associated with language disorders by creating an early intervention program as a result of the evaluation of language skills of children in need of protection in children's homes. In addition, the relationship between language skills development and some sociodemographic variables was examined. The study group of this thesis consists of 35 children in need of protection, aged between 2.0 and 7.11, living in children's homes. As a data collection tool; Sociodemographic Information Form and Turkish Early Language Development Test (TELD) were used. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS program. As a result of the study, it was seen that the language skills development levels of the children were below the average. A significant difference was found between the Turkish Early Language Development Test receptive language, expressive language and verbal language performance and the age variable (p<0,05). While there was a significant difference between receptive language skills and the age of admission to the institution (p<0,05), no significant difference was found between expressive language and verbal language performance (p>0,05). There was no significant difference between the variables of gender, bilingualism (bilingualism), education level of the caregiver, length of stay in the institution, number of siblings and frequency of contact with family members and TELD subtests (p>0,05).
