Abstract (EN)
Child abuse and neglect is a social problem that affects families and societies, especially children, and needs to be addressed. Children are the foundation of societies. The existence of healthy societies in the future depends only on children who grow up healthy. Studies show that children encounter many physical, behavioral, emotional and psychological problems due to abuse and neglect. These problems they have experienced also cause them to show psychological and behavioral disorders in adulthood. For this reason, childhood abuse and neglect may have negative effects on both today's child and future adults. Despite the fact that child abuse and neglect is a problem from the past, it has become a problem that rises more and more every day with the increase in the knowledge level of the society and the increase in the awareness level of people on this issue. In addition, books and journals on this subject have been written and media publications have been created. At the same time, by organizing seminars and conferences, the subject was expressed more comfortably. In particular, regarding the sexual abuse of the child, who is qualified as "shame", psychological help is sought by considering the psychology of the child and his / her family, and the relevant issue is carried to the judicial authorities and the right to be a victim is sought with our families. Although the concepts of abuse and neglect are often confused with each other, these concepts include various behaviors. Child abuse is emotional, physical, sexual and economic; Child neglect is divided into physical, emotional and educational classes. Child abuse is defined as all the acts that an adult, such as a parent or caregiver, imposes on children, which are considered inappropriate or harmful by social norms and experts, that inhibit child development or restrict its development. On the other hand, neglect is defined as the fact that if the physical or psychological needs of the children are not met continuously, this situation creates important problems in the development or health of the child. Negligence is expressed as the failure of the parent or caregiver to provide suitable food, accommodation, clothing and clothing opportunities to protect the child from physical danger or deprive him of the necessary health facilities. In addition, neglect includes not showing interest in the basic emotional needs of the child. Recently, there has been an increase in sensitivity in the society regarding child neglect and abuse. The increased sensitivity to this issue can mainly be attributed to the increased responsibility of adults on children, not to the increase in child neglect and especially abuse. Although the development of child research has not yet contributed to the reduction of child problems, it has led to an increase in public interest in children's problems. Although, legally, laws on child neglect and abuse are enacted and deterrent penalties are imposed, it is seen that the problem has not been resolved and continues to increase. This situation is worth studying sociologically. Indeed, this thesis is intended to be done sociological analysis of legislation relating to child abuse and neglect in Turkey.
