Evaluation of Qur'ân/interpretation studies prepared for children

In recent years, the number of Qur'ān/interpretation studies developed for children in the field of Islamic education has steadily increased, but these studies have not been academically evaluated. For this reason, in order to contribute to religious education, in the first part of this research, concepts related to the subject and the features that children's books should include are presented, and in the second part, an inventory of different types of Qur'ān/interpretation studies prepared for children in Türkiye to date is compiled. After providing information about the works including surahs and verses, the works were evaluated based on their formal and visual compatibility, language and style, and content acceptability for children. The research eliminated all studies on Qur'ān parables, al-Asma' al-Husna books, and learning to read the Qur'ān, while all other studies were classified based on their content and methodology. The third chapter discusses the factors that cause problems in Tafsīr science as well as the good aspects in Tafsīr science using chosen cases. Finally, it was determined that, among the 150 books reviewed, the number and quality of research grew between 2004 and 2023.
