The relationship of childhood trauma with job satisfaction, nurse-nurse collaboration and patient care quality in nurses

This is a cross-sectional, descriptive and relationship-seeking study conducted to determine the relationship between childhood traumas and nurse job satisfaction, nurse-nurse cooperation and patient care quality. Necip Fazıl City Hospital located in Kahramanmaraş; Necip Fazıl City Hospital Main Service Building, Yörük Selim Additional Service Building, Gynecology and Children's Hospital Additional Service Building and Physiotherapy Additional Service Building affiliated to Yörük Selim Additional Service Building, Hemodialysis Unit Additional Service Building, TRSM Additional Service Building and Home Health Care Its services consisted of 517 nurses working in the Additional Service Building. Personal Data Form, Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ-33), Nurse-Nurse Collaboration Scale (NNCS) and Nurse Job Satisfaction Scale (HISS) were used to collect data in the study. Web-based or face-to-face data were collected from the nurses who accepted to participate in the study, considering their working conditions and accepting the face-to-face or online method. SPSS Statistics 22 program was used to evaluate the data. The mean age of the participants was found to be 35.66±7.93. According to the results of the study, the total CTQ-33 mean score was 48.21±15.50; The total mean score of NNCS was 75.39±13.30; The mean of HISS was 91.10±19.13; The mean patient care quality was found to be 7.01±2.13 (scoring between 1-10). A significant and negative relationship between Childhood Traumas and Nurse Job Satisfaction, Nurse-Nurse Collaboration and Patient Care Quality; A positive and significant relationship was found between Nurse Job Satisfaction, Nurse-Nurse Cooperation, and Patient Care Quality (p<0.001). According to the results of the study, early diagnosis and prevention of childhood traumas; Suggestions were made to increase the job satisfaction and cooperation of nurses within the institution.
