Özet (EN)
Various typical and atypical pathogens play a role in etiology of community acquired pneumoniae (CAP) in childhood and serological assays are more available in differantiating species. İFA assay is a serologic method which simultaneously scanning the patients? sera in terms of spesific antibodies developed against various pathogens and differantiate species. The aim of this study is to investigate seropositivity of specific IgM antibodies developed against atypical pneumoniae pathogens and to compare with control group. Material and method; serum samples were taken from 90 pediatric patients diagnosed with CAP and 30 healthy children were screened with a single İFA kit in terms of the most seen 20 atypical pathogens. There were seropositivity at 61 children in patients? group and 7 children in control group. Sensitivity and specifity of the test were %76,7. In statistical analyse, seropositivity of patients? group was significantly higher than control group (p<0,05). In sera of 42 (46,7%) patients İnfluenza virüses, 9 (25,6%) patients other respiratuary virüses, 55 (45,6 %) patients enteric virüses particularly Coxackie virüs, from bacteria Bordotella spp. 30 (33,3 %), other strains (K. pneumoniae, M. pneumoniae, L. pneumophilia) 16 (17,8 %) were positive. In statistical analyze, these positivities were found meaningful to control group (p<0,05). 38 (62,3 %) of 61 sera in patients? group and 4 (57,1 %) of 7 seropositive sera in control group, there was seropositivity against multiple agents. In conclusion, seropositivity in children with CAP was significantly higher than healthy control group and the majority of pathogens were found to be mixed. This result showed that in patients with CAP atypical pathogens may be substantially responsible and the İFA assay, which has high sensitivity and specificity, can be preferred in routine applications with other classic conventional methods to determine the etiology of CAP.Key words: Childhood, pneumonia acquired from community, Atypic pathogen, İndirect immuno-fluorescense assa
