Turkish TV series from the perspective of multiperspectival critical theory

Throughout this research in which we evaluate the period 1997 /98 when the production of tv series highly increased and attempt to analyse the serial named "Şehnaz Tango", we used Kellner's multiperspectival critical theory. By the help of this theory offering to examine any subject matter from different standpoints, we analysed the series from the perspective of production mechanism, media sector, and text. According to result of this research, we came to the conclusion that either the concept of production or the production quantitiy of this period is nearly the same as 1960-70's Yeşilçam. While the most of these series are between the night soaps and melodrama from the point of narration style, by taking into consideration the production circumtances and subjets of the series - especially on mafia and women/men relationships, -we got some idelogic and social inference. At the last part of this research, using the semiological methods in which especially Fiske's televisional codes take place and completing the deficiency of this science ( such as, production circumtances, media sector ) we attemt to analyse the serial Şehnaz Tango.
