Abstract (EN)
The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected childhood vaccinations. This study was conducted to evaluate the attitudes of healthcare professionals at Dicle University Hospital towards childhood vaccines before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was planned as a cross-sectional study. Ethics committee approval was received for the study. 526 healthcare professionals participated in the study. The sociodemographic data form and the parental attitudes towards childhood vaccines scale (PACV) were used in the evaluation, and the scale questions were asked twice, before and after the pandemic. Statistical analysis of the data was done using SPSS 26.0 program. A total of 526 people participated in the study and the average age was 35.89±6.46. 53.8% of the participants were women, 65.4% were married, and 52.1% had children. 39.5% of the participants were assistant doctors and 77.4% were working in internal sciences. 66.7% of the participants were university graduates. In the study, the attitude, total and transformed scores of the participants who have children, children under the age of 5, children born after the pandemic, no history of hospitalization due to COVID-19, and those who have not received the Biontech vaccine; male participants with children, assistant doctors' behavior and total scores; In the attitude scores of participants who are university graduates, work in internal sciences, have received the COVID-19 vaccine, and do not have children under the age of 5; in the attitudes and total scores of participants working in surgical sciences, clinics and intensive care; In the attitude and safety effectiveness scores of the participants whose children were not born after the pandemic and who received the Biontech vaccine; There was a statistically significant difference in the hesitation status of participants with children after the pandemic compared to before the pandemic (p <0.05). Your hesitation is male; Those who have no history of hospitalization due to COVID-19 and have children after the pandemic; It was observed that there was a statistically significant difference after the pandemic compared to before the pandemic in participants who did not receive the Biontech vaccine (p <0.05). As a result, our study showed that the attitudes of healthcare professionals towards childhood vaccines changed negatively after the pandemic compared to before the pandemic.
