Abstract (EN)

As a country, we have experienced all the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, which has surrounded the whole world, in terms of social, economic, educational and psychological aspects. This research was conducted to investigate the effects of children's social isolation and screen exposure, as well as parental attitudes, on children's computer game addiction in order to examine the effects of the epidemic in our country. The research is a quantitative study, descriptive survey method was used. The population of the research consists of 25 public schools in Yenişehir district of Mersin province in the 2020-2021 academic year. The sample group consists of 306 randomly selected students from these schools who participated in the research. In the study, the relationship between parental education level, family income, gender factor, parental attitudes, social isolation situations, daily spent time with technological tools, frequency of children playing in the park, playing on the street and attending courses with addiction of computer games was investigated. According to the results of the study, a significant relationship was determined in accordance with the literature, with the state of children's feeling of social isolation, psychological autonomy subdimension from parental attitudes, gender factor, daily time spent with technological tools and computer game addiction level. In the study, "Personal Information Form", "Children's Computer Game Addiction Scale" and "Parental Attitude Scale" were used as data collection tools.
