Abstract (EN)
As a result of the rapid spread of the epidemic called COVID-19 all over the world, humanity has entered a process that is rare. The fact that current treatment methods do not provide any protection against the virus has left many states helpless in this process. The fact that the global interaction is very developed has also greatly increased the spread of the pandemic and caused the death of many people around the world. The global crisis of this magnitude has not only threatened people's health, but also greatly damaged commercial activities by stopping the supply-demand balance in the economic markets. Significant employment-income losses occurred during the pandemic, and these losses greatly affected the welfare levels of societies. States, on the other hand, have implemented various policies that have not been seen before in order to alleviate the negative effects of the pandemic. These policies implemented by the states reduced human interaction to the lowest level, but at the same time caused it to stop in economic life. This thesis has examined the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on employment and income distribution within the framework of the precautionary policies implemented by the countries. It alsoanalyzed which policies the countriesand especially Turkey have implemented to prevent employment-income loss during the pandemic. In addition, in order to better see the effects of the pandemic on employment and income loss, a survey was conducted with university graduates, and as a result of this survey, more concrete information was obtained about the effects of the pandemic on the workforce. With this concrete information, the effects of the pandemic policies implemented in Turkey, especially on qualified young individuals, were also revealed. Therefore, this thesis sheds light on the possible effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that are expected to occur at the international level by using dataon employment and income allocation.
