The moderator role of anxiety disorder in the intention to go to food and bavarage operations with in the scope of the planned behavioral theory during COVID-19

On 31 December 2019, cases of pneumonia of unknown cause emerged in Wuhan city of China's Hubei province. However, on January 5, 2020, it was reported by the World Health Organization's China Office that there is a new coronavirus that has been previously detected in animals but has not been seen in humans. With Covid-19, which entered our lives through foreign countries, many changes have occurred in our lives. Although the damage to humanity is known physically, there is also psychological damage. Food and beverage businesses places are the one of them where the risk of infection of Covid-19 is high, as they are suitable for hosting crowded communities. From this point of view humans have experienced some hesitations about participating in food and beverage activities. In this process, it is predicted that the behavioral intentions of humans may be affected. The reason for this is anxiety disorder that progresses depending on the risk factor. The aim of this thesis is to study the role of anxiety disorder in the decision to go to food and beverage business in terms of planned behavior theory. The data related to the research is a questionnaire technique, which is one of the quantitative research methods. A total of 594 questionnaires were accessed and all of them were included in the analysis. Confirmatory factor, regression and Chi-square analyzes were used in the study. In the study, it was concluded that the anxiety disorder levels in women were higher than in men, while it was seen that anxiety disorder had a significant and negative effect on behavioral intention. According to the results obtained, it was possible to say that behavioral intention would decrease with the increase in anxiety disorder feelings.
