Evaluation of the relation between COVID-19 pandemic affects andsexual complaints in the context of Cognitive Attentional Syndrome(CAS)

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to evaluate the difference in sexual complaint scores pre Covid-19 and during Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the relation between the sexual complaints, Covid-19 anxiety, obsession with Covid-19, fear of Covid-19 and cognitive attentional syndrome. The sample of the research consists of 170 female and 95 male in total of 265 individuals aged between 18-65 and living different cities of Turkey. "Sexual Complaints Screener for Men, Sexual Complaints Screener for Women, Cognitive Attentional Syndrome Scale, Covid-19 Anxiety Scale, The Obsession with Covid-19 Scale, Fear of Covid-19 Scale and Socio-Demographic Information Form" were used in the study. The data obtained in the study were analyzed with the SPSS-22 statistical program. In this study, socio-demographic informations examined by descriptive statistical analysis. The relationships between variables were examined by independent samples t-test and pearson correlation analysis. The effects of the independent variables on sexual complaints were evaluated by hierarchical regression analysis. As a result of the research, no difference were found in sexual complaint scores before and during Covid-19 pandemic. A positive and significant relationship was found between the sexual complaints, Covid-19 fear, Covid-19 anxiety and obsession with Covid-19. In addition, a positive and significant relationship between cognitive attentional syndrome (CAS) and Covid-19 anxiety, fear of Covid-19 and obsession with Covid-19 was found. According to the hierarchihal regression model, it was found that independent variables explain %17 of the women sexual complaints score and %25 of the men sexual complaints score.
