Abstract (EN)

This study is on social stigmatization and isolation experienced by currently employed 20 health workers during the COVID-19 period. Semi-structured interviewing and socio-demographic information sheet are used for data gathering. Hermeneutic phenomenological analysis of data yields ten subthemes: stigmatization (three themes), exclusion (three themes), and impacts of COVID-19 (4 themes). Stigmatization-related subthemes are virus-infector, virus-transporter and hero; exclusion-related subthemes are social exclusion, status loss and economic exclusion; COVID-19-impacts-related subthemes are negative psychological effects, lost job-satisfaction, job-related intrinsic satisfaction and occupational prestige.
