Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine yield- water use relations of the King?s Ruby table grape under traditional deficit irrigation and partial root zone drying on yield and yield components under Cukurova conditions.The research was carried out in 2009 at the experimental station of Horticulture Department of Faculty of Agriculture at Çukurova University in Adana, using King?s Ruby table grape. In the study four different treatments were considered: Full irrigation (TS); conventional deficit drip irrigation (KS, 50%); partial root-zone drying (PRD, 50%); and non-irrigated control treatment.In this study, the highest grape yield was obtained from the PRD treatment. The irrigation treatments had signigficantly different effects on yields as determined by variance analysis. The highest water use efficiency was obtained in PRD as 28.37 kg/m3, the lowest water use efficiency was calculated in KS treantment as 13.62 kg/m3. According to the PRD application with water savings of 50% as compared to full irrigation while providing higher yields of vineyard irrigation might be a suitable strategy for irrigation has been shown.
