The Problems resulting from the application of total quality standards in the enterprises managed through this system among the agriculture based industrial enterprises in Çukurova region

The increase in competitiveness and in the variety of customer demands and expectations in the last years have led firms to change and review their systems and secure their quality standards. It is obvious that the firms applying ISO 9000 quality assurance system and targeting total quality management philosophy will occupay an important place in the world market. With this perception, in this study realized in the scope of agriculture based industrial enterprises applying ISO 9000 Quality Assurance System and adopting Total Quality Management Phenomenon in Adana City, the positive and negative changes that enterprises observe in their working system after obtaining ISO 9000 certificate were invesitigated. All of the enterprises stated that the ISO 9000 system is a step towards total quality management. It was observed that the basic reasons behind the application of ISO 9000 system is to improve their systems. However, it was found that the ISO 9000 system has not been thoroughly successful in meeting their expectations. Key words: ISO 9000, Total Quality Management, Quality assurance, quality control
