Abstract (EN)

The concept of "evil", which is equated with negativity; religion, philosophy, psychology, literature, such as a concept in various definitions and examinations. How evil emerges as an act, rather than the definition of evil, is the main issue that many researchers are trying to make sense of. These meaning-making studies give rise to a problem called the "problem of evil". The problem of evil is more of a theological interest. Theology and philosophy address this issue by associating evil with God. Fields such as psychology and literature, on the other hand, start from the adventure of human life. The field in which the rich material on evil is most concentrated is literature. When we look at literary works, there are traces of evil in almost every genre. Stories as a literary genre are the target point of this study because they create a plane closer to the reality of life. In Turkish literature, the story gradually develops after the Tanzimat and reveals the modern story. The richness of the modern story in literature takes place in the Republican Period. The story of the Republican era is shaped within the framework of social realism and divided into periods within itself. The stories of this period contain various elements of evil as well as psychological and social content. In this study, twenty stories of the Republican Period are examined in the context of evil. The aim of the study; To examine how the perception of evil took place in the stories of the Republican Period and to make the issues about evil and evil that man reflects on fiction more understandable.
