Abstract (EN)

The Armenian question has been not only a part of the result of the reflection of nation-state concept spread through French Revolution to Ottoman country but also global policies of Western states. In the process, the Armenian Question from being a question in between Turks and Armenians turned into a problem affecting Turkey?s foreign affairs and became one of the most important agenda item for 130 years. Moreover it has remained continuously on the Turkish public agenda. In the Ottoman Empire period the Armenian Question was a problem of minority group trying to create their own state with the help of some states and nationalist references. But, the new Turkish Republic had to face with Armenian claims ?massacre? occurred in 1915. Armenians tried to make Turkey accept this assertion with international pressure. That is why the Armenian question in republic era had been perceived as happenings in 1915 and territorial claims by Turkish public opinion. This work focus on reaction of Turkish public opinion against 1915 events and Armenian claims, sources of those reactions, periodic characteristics of reactions and whether perception has been change or not.
