Biographical novel type in Turkish Literature of the republican

The biographical novel is seen as a fictional representation of the forms of remembrance and commemoration. The starting point of the genre is the biography, which has an objective structure. In this context, throughout every era, whether it is an important figure in fields like religion, history, and politics, or an ordinary person living a simple life, human life has always been a subject of curiosity. Some authors aware of this try to write biography in a more artistic manner. From this starting point, artists narrate the lives of certain prominent figures within the fictional realm of the novel. Modern biography, which first began to be seen in Turkish literature from the second half of the 19th century, has gradually expanded towards the genre of biographical novel by utilizing the fictional possibilities of the language. It can be said that the biographical novel, which gained momentum in the Republican era of Turkish literature, has gradually divided into several sub-genres. The situation of the biographical novel genre, which is approached in various forms in Turkish literature, awaits analysis. In line with all this information, it can be stated that the primary aim of the study is to draw a general framework regarding the place of the biographical novel genre in Turkish literature. Additionally, the main goal to be achieved is to examine the development of the genre in Turkish literature and the transformations it underwent through sociological movements.
