Abstract (EN)

Vitamin D deficiency has been proven to affect fertility in mammals, but data in human is less convincing. Many researches on in vitro fertilization (IVF) is becoming an attractive model to draw information on this topic, are sparse and conflicting.Cytochrome P450 (CYP) 24A1 catalyzes the side-chain oxidation of the hormonal form of vitamin D. CYP24A1 degrades vitamin D, it is a target for inhibitor development for treatment of diseases linked to vitamin D insufficiency, such as bone disorders, kidney disease, cancer and reproduction. Vitamin D is also an emerging factor influencing female fertility and IVF outcome. The aim of this study was to investigate to relationship between primer infertile patients and polymorphisms of CYP24A1 gene which encodes to enzyme that has role in activation in vitamin D process. At this study, DNAs, isolated from 40 primer infertile patients were investigated in CYP24A1 (rs2248137) genes polymorphism through the real-time PCR based method.
