Abstract (EN)

The investigated area which covers the geological properties of East Pontides, includes, Devonian-Carboniferous Akşar granite at the base composed of granodiorite, quartz, diorite and granite. The Liassic Hamurkesen Formation is unconformably overlying Akşar granite and composed, gray, reddish, brown conglomerate, marl, shale, sandstone, siltstone, tuff and tuffite intercalation, composeding band and lenses of red colored fossiliferous limestone, have acidic and basic lava, dykes and sills. İt is Liassic in age and unconformably overlies Akşar Granite. Hozbirikyayla Formation is in the age of Dogger-Malm-Lower Cretaceous Cretouse and has gray, yellowish gray, white, light gray and ash gray color and composed of oolitic limestone, dolomitic limestone, sandy limestone and limestone, having cherts in the form of band and nodule, unconformably overlies Hamurkesen Formation. Sırataşlar Formation is gray, yellow, beige and light green colored, have a thin midlayer. Contains Nummulites fossils. It made up of limestone, sandstone and in patchs marl and sandy limestone. İt is Eocene in age and unconformably overlies Hozbirikyayla Formation. Yazyurdu Formation is Yprasian-Lutetian in age and unconformably overlies Sırataşlar Formation. The Yazyurdu formation consists of andesitic and basaltic lavas, andesitic-basaltic agglomerate and tuff intercalation Yazyurdu formation is cut by Rize granite.Anahtar Kelimeler: Volcanosedimantary unit, Discordance, Hamurkesen Formation, Hozbirikyayla Formation.
