Abstract (EN)

Turkey, located in the temperate zone, has a rich biodiversity with its geographical location. Despite this, foreign taxa are preferred more in planting design works carried out in our country. Using natural taxa in planting design works offers many aesthetic, ecological, functional and economic contributions. In this study was carried out in a semi-controlled greenhouse environment of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, Department of Landscape Architecture and aimed to determine the rooting success of semi-woody plant cuttings taken in june, august and october from Daphne pontica L. and Daphne odora Thunb. 'Aureomarginata' taxa originating from Korea, Japan and China, which have not yet found a place in landscape planting studies, in different rooting medium and to determine the possibilities of using these taxa in landscaping. In the study, the effects of six different rooting medium (%100 peat, %100 perlite, %100 river silt, %50 peat + %50 perlite, %50 river silt + %50 perlite and %50 vermiculite + %50 cocopeat) on average root length (cm), average root number (number of roots), average rooting rate (%), average live cuttings rate (%) and average callusing rate (%) were investigated. In D. pontica L. taxon; the best average root number was realized in august with 13 pieces in %50 peat + %50 perlite medium, the best average root length was realized in august with 10,4 cm in %100 river shaft medium, the best average rooting rate was realized in june with %66,7 in %100 perlite medium, the best average live cuttings rate was realized in october with %100 in %100 perlite medium, the best average callusing rate was realized in june with %76 in %100 perlite medium and this situation was observed in D. odora Thunb. 'Aureomarginata' taxon; the average best root number was 17.1 pieces in august in %50 river mile + %50 perlite medium, the average best root length was 13,2 cm in june in %100 river mile medium, the best average rooting rate was %96,7 in june and august in %100 perlite and %100 peat medium, the best average viable cuttings rate was %100 in june, august and october on %100 peat, %100 perlite and %50 peat + %50 perlite media, and the best average callusing rate was %96,7 in june and august on %100 peat and %100 perlite media. It was concluded that the months of june and august were important in the production study with semi-woody cuttings in both taxa and that peat, perlite and river mile media were determinant in these months. It has been determined that D. pontica L. and D. odora Thunb. 'Aureomarginata' taxa, which have medicinal and aromatic value and attract attention with their aesthetic, functional and ecological features, can be used as ornamental plants for various purposes in landscape plantings.
