Abstract (EN)
Reason has an important place for philosophy both as a concept and as a skill that separates man from other living things. The dilemma of reason or sense as the issue of source of knowledge is a subject that almost all philosophers studiously focus on. Reason to which various meanings have been attributed to in its historical process has sometimes been regarded as the sole faculty of thought, sometimes as an ontological hierarchy of asset and sometimes as the only stipulation for reaching God. However, as for the 18th century, we witness a different emphasis on reason. This era, called as the Age of Enlightenment, is also known as the Age of Reason. In this century, when reason appeared as a manner, a number of issues considered as not-negotiable and well-attested were included in the scope of inquiry of an individual and human being was considered as the only epistemological authority. Hume is absolutely one of the famous thinkers of this century in which empirical way of thinking was dominant. He succeeded in becoming a milestone in the history of philosophy thanks to his inquiries and conclusions. In this study, it is tried to examine how Hume, who sometimes adopted a septic.
