Abstract (EN)

Health, disease, medicine, and society have always permeated and interacted with each other throughout history. The importance of social, cultural and economic factors has increased day by day in the emergence, definition and treatment of diseases within the medical discipline, which has declared its sovereignty in the field of health. The phenomena and factors in the field of health are in interaction with both the phenomena and the factors in the social sphere. Therefore, health, disease and society are considered as three different but intertwined areas. The consumption culture, which forms the spirit of the new social system, has changed the meaning of the health and disease phenomena and differentiated the content of the concepts related to these phenomena. Biomedical model, which is a reflection of the nature of medical knowledge with the birth of modern medicine, and then the Biocultural model, which emerged because of sociocultural factors gaining importance in disease and treatment approaches in parallel with social changes, are the reflection of this change in the medical discipline. The main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of this process on health and disease perception of physicians and patients.
