Özet (EN)

The present study was conducted to determine phosphorus efficiency levels of different lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) and chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) genotypes under greenhouse conditions. Eskişehir Sultanönü soil with low phosphorus contents was used in greenhouse experiments. Commonly used 9 chickpea and 9 lentil genotypes were used as the plant material of the study. Plants were grown under three different phosphorus doses (15, 45 and 90 mg P kg-1 soil) for 55 days. Before the harvest, phosphorus deficiency symptoms in shoot were graded. Plant shoot and dry root weights were determined after the harvest. Present findings revealed that there were not any significant relationships between phosphorus deficiency symptoms and phosphorus efficiency of chickpea and lentil genotypes. Similarly, there were not any significant relations also between shoot phosphorus concentrations and phosphorus efficiency. On the other hand, phosphorus efficiency valeus had significant positive correlations with shoot dry matter productions and shoot phosphorus contents. According to the results obtained, considering the mean efficiency values it was observed that Yerli Kırmızı lentil genotype and Çağatay chickpea genotype had higher efficiency values (45.3 % and 70.0 % respectively) than the other genotypes. Further research was recommended to correlate these efficiency values with yields and other phosphorus efficiency mechanisms mentioned in literature should be investigated for better outcomes.
