The Democrat Party had been removed from the Republican People's Party and took its place in our political history. From the first days, he built his policy on anti-bureaucracy and was shaped around the principles of liberal capitalism and democracy discourse. While the Democratic Party was in opposition, he cooperated and acted with leftists between 1946-1950. In 1950-1960, While he was in power, he was the pioneer of anti-Communist policies. In this period, which was experienced between the United States and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and known as the de Cold War Period emi, there is a serious communism / left-wing opposition in the countries which are under the influence of the United States. Turkey had also been converging with America and became the forefront of countries that struggle with communism. In this context, in the 1950s, America's dissemination of the idea of combating communism also guided the policies of the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party, which considered the existence of parties or organizations defending communism as a destructive power rather than a freedom of thought, had been oppressive, prohibitive and harsh, and measures and arrests had continued during the years of power. Being leftist as in other periods , resulted in heavy punishments The perception of left during Democratic Party Period in Turkey were examined in this study.
