Abstract (EN)

Materials and methods: Experimental endometriosis model was created on rats. Ketotifen, dienogest, danazol, isolyte-s and control groups were divided into 5 groups with 8 rats in each group. Ketotifen 1 mg/kg, dienogest 0.3mg/kg and danazol 100 mg/kg isolyte-s 1ml were administered orally for 28 days. Endometriotic implants were measured by relaparotomy at the end of the medical period, then excised and abdominal cytology was obtained. TNFα levels were measured in abdominal fluid. Ki-67, tryptase, TNF-α levels and mast cell densities were examined in the excised implants. Result: In the ketotifen group, the decrease in endometriotic implant volume was similar to dienogest and danazole. Again in the ketotifen group, mast cell densities and stromal TNFα levels were decreased. Current findings suggest that ketotifen is a molecule that can be used in the treatment of endometriosis. Key Words: endometriosis, ketotifen, danazol, dienogest, mast cell
