Abstract (EN)
The study reveals the relationships and mutual interactions between the concepts of sovereignty and colonialism within overseas colonial empires. Based on the examples of Spain, Portugal, Britain, France, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Italy, the processes related to the acquisition and loss of colonial sovereignty and the political, legal, and socio-economic reflections of this sovereignty are investigated. In this context, the nature of colonial dominance emerging on the continents of America, Asia, and Africa during a period between the beginning of the Modern Age and the end of World War II is subjected to a unique evaluation in terms of the concept of sovereignty. Through the results obtained in this research carried out within the framework offered by the concepts of colonialism, empire, and imperialism, it is aimed to add a new dimension to the sovereignty debates of modern states.
