Özet (EN)

Nowadays, the competition of companies in the international market is increasing day by day. With increasing competition, companies are resort to different logistics strategies and evaluate different transportation mode alternatives. In this study, it provides benefits in many areas such as easy access of companies to target markets, reducing their costs, accelerating production by providing stock control, and minimizing the risk of damage in product transportation In overseas imports or exports, especially in low loadings in terms of order quantity, volume or tonnage, LCL (less than container load), which is an alternative to FCL (Full container load) loading, in other words, has started to prefer the mode of transportation. Partial transportation has become an advantageous transportation model for companies that want to increase their competitiveness in the international market by minimizing transportation costs. While approximately 65 cubic meters are loaded into a 40'HC container, the profits of companies that provide consolidation services in a container loaded with 50-55 cubic meters due to loads that cannot be stacked/rotated due to the way they are packaged or cause empty spaces in the container due to their dimensions decrease and may even incur losses. For the efficient use of the in-container volume, pallet loading and parcel loading were discussed in my study, and the maximum volumes that can be used in the container were compared. The freight revenues provided by both loading alternatives were examined with five different comparative examples: all palletized, 75% palletized, 50% palletized, 25% palletized and all boxed. As a result, as seen in the freight scales given in the examples, palletized loadings increase the freight income fluctuatingly up to a certain point, while after a certain point, parcel loadings appear to increase the freight income linearly. Material and moral risks that need to be taken into consideration are also mentioned here.
