Özet (EN)
The use of implant supported prosthesis are common application in both partially and total edentulous patients in recent years. In some circumstances, alveoler bone volume is inadequate for implant placement. On that condition, various bone grafts and barrier membranes are used to increase the bone volume. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects two different bovine derived hydroxyapatite graft material on bone regeneration around dental implants. In our study, eight domestic pigs are used. Three critical size bone defects were created on the frontal bones of all pigs and a dental implant was placed in the middle of each defect. In the first defects, no graft material was used to fill and used as control group. The other defects were filled with Integros Boneplus xs or BioOss. All defects were covered with resorbable collagen membranes. At the end of a 10-week healing period, undecalcified sections were prepared for bone-implant contact percentage analysis. The data were analyzed statistically. In conclusion, the usage of bone grafts increased bone-implant contact statistically compared to the empty defect group. However, there was no significant difference between the graft materials which were used.
