Abstract (EN)

Earthquakes are major disasters that occur as a result of large-scale cracks in the earth's crust and cause widespread destruction. In the literature, earthquake damages are classified as structural and non-structural. Non-structural elements include architectural, mechanical, and electrical components that have non-load bearing elements. Since they can harm both people and property during earthquakes, non-structural elements pose a serious risk. According to studies of literature, Turkey requires a definite inspection system for assessing the earthquake risk of interior architectural projects. In this context, it is intended to create a risk assessment system consisting of 11 modules for non-structural elements. This research has been essential for determining the success or failure of interior design projects based on the risks and threats posed by non-structural elements during an earthquake. The goal is to assess the risks using the L-type matrix risk assessment method and the analytical rubric, one of the educational assessment methods, in the risk assessment of interior design projects. Data for the assessment were collected using literature reviews, online meetings, expert information forms and surveys. The combined assessment system consists of four main steps: identifying the problem, determining the design criterias, determining the hazards, risks, and risk mitigation strategies, and developing the assessment model by integrating the risk assessment method and analytical rubric. As a result of the evaluation; feedback will be provided for interior design projects, to ensure that missing or faulty points against the earthquake risk in the projects will be seen and a report will be prepared and submitted as feedback in order to assess how successful the project has been in achieving its set aims.
