Der Beyan-ı Sergüzeşt-i İmam-ı Hüseyin: Grammar-text-index

We study on the manuscript, Der beyan-ı İmam-ı Hüseyin, which consists of 56 sheets and 5 chapters. The work having ?maktel? characteristics tells about the struggle between Yezid and Hz. Hüseyin.No information was reached as to when the work was written. The text is rich in verbs as it includes narrations of events. Further, there are many examples of idioms and proper names.The introduction part presents a detailed description of the manuscript. Information as to where the manuscript is kept and what the number of registry as well as morphologic features and its chapters.Linguistic analysis is presented in 3 parts: orthography, phonology, and morphology. Orthographic analysis deals with whether there is inconsistency in the spelling of the text considering the orthographic features of the vowels and consonants and no inconsistency was found. Phonologic analysis discusses the labial harmony, which distinguishes Turkish from other languages and no labial harmony was found in many words in the text. There were also no consistency in vocalisation. It was also observed that ?t? sound remained voiceless in initial phoneme. In addition, final phoneme ?k? remained voiced in many examples.Syntactic analysis revealed no significant difference from modern Turkish. Case suffixes are used in the same way as Modern Turkish. Many compound verbs but approximative verb were found in the form of durative, verb of haste and potential verb. It was observed that reported past was used as imperfect. The conjugations of simple past tense , simple present tense, simple future tense as well as subjunctive, conditional, imperative moods were also found.In the grammatical index, word groups were given only under the first word and proper names were indexed.
