Abstract (EN)
This study investigated the effects of the teaching process enriched with the help of 6 Sigma technique on the academic success of 6th grade students in the subject of 'Support and Movement System' in the unit 'Systems and Health in Our Body' of the science course. The research sample consisted of 30 6th grade students, 15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group, studying in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır in the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The quantitative research approach was used in the research, and the experiment-control model of the semi-experimental design was used. The research was conducted with two classes; while 6-B class constituted the control group in which the courses were taught with the methods and techniques required by the current program; 6-A class constituted the experimental group in which the courses were taught based on the application of 6 Sigma technique. The application lasted 5 weeks. The academic achievement test developed by the researcher regarding the subjects of 'Support and Movement System', which was the only test, was applied as the data collection tool throughout the research. The reliability coefficient of the academic achievement test was found to be 0.93. These scales were applied to the experimental and control group students both at the beginning and at the end of the process. The data obtained in the study were analyzed with the SPSS.20 program. The experimental group students, who showed lower academic achievement scores than the control group students at the beginning of the research process, showed higher achievement than the control group students after the courses were taught with the 6 Sigma learning model.
